Techno-tainment Camp is a fun place for 21st Century kids! Our regulars at camp are students who like to play video games, watch videos, entertain their friends, draw and paint, surf the web, and play with cameras. Techno-tainers use important technologies to create entertainment and solve problems. We believe students must use technology to critically think, communicate, creatively solve problems, and collaborate with others. These skills are critical in competing with the demands of the future.
At PlanetBravo, we’ve proudly upheld a two-week refund policy for many years, ensuring flexibility for our camp families. This summer, we’re updating our policy to provide even more clarity and options while maintaining fairness to all.
Here’s how it works:
Until April 1st: If you need to cancel your camp registration, you’re eligible for a 100% refund of camp tuition.
Starting April 1st:
Cancellations made two weeks or more before your camp session’s start date will qualify for a 50% refund or a credit toward a later camp week during the same summer (subject to availability).
Cancellations made less than two weeks before your camp session are non-refundable and non-transferable.
This policy ensures we can adequately prepare for an unforgettable camp experience for all participants.
Note: Terms associated with any partnering programs (such as hotel stays) remain independent of PlanetBravo and are not subject to our refund policy. Retroactive refunds will continue to be issued in the case of scholarships awarded in April.
Thank you for understanding and supporting this updated policy as we strive to create a fun and seamless summer for every camper!
Although we firmly believe that campers should practice what they learn on their workstations at home, we provide all computers at camp locations to institute best practices and ensure a quality experience. We do provide installation and file transfer information following camp.
Depending on their course selections, children may edit special effects, code or design video games, train to be an esports athlete, build RC cars, model three-dimensional designs, and/or create digital music. Children play with technology, and in the process, develop their analytical reasoning skills and technology know-how.
This summer, all locations run 9am-3pm. New in 2025, we also offer extended care in the afternoons only. This runs until 5:30pm at an additional charge. You may add this at checkout.
No way! It's summer! Techno-tainment Camp combines the best of all sides to the summer experience: memorable new friendships, creative endeavors and exhilarating fun and games outdoors! Students average about four and a half hours of work time each day spread out around games, lunch, snack break, and other activities.
We are extremely proud of the welcoming tone and non-intimidating approach of our summer camp. Our directors and instructors are trained to engage students and get them to interact in a friendly and easy-going way. Furthermore, our daily schedule is designed to balance interaction through simple get-to-know-you activities interspersed with their individual work time. It's an easy and friend-filled day for any child coming to camp alone.
Although courses are designed to allow major productivity in a one week period, students may enroll in the same course for as many weeks as they would like, or take different courses each time through. Because of the project-based curriculum and individualized training, students can easily expand on new computer concepts in the same course for more than one week. There is always something new to learn in their field!
We like to make sure that every week is new and exciting for every student, whether it's their first week or sixth week. One way we do that is by constantly changing the curriculum, offering different courses and different instruction within those courses. Another way is with Theme Weeks. Theme Weeks offer a topic that students can choose to focus their projects on if they'd like. Participation is absolutely NOT required, but does add a bonus layer to the experience. Projects, sports, and the weekly Dress Up Day (on Thursdays) all reflect the theme of the week.
As a year-round educational program with over 30 full-time educators, we have been extremely fortunate to staff our summer programs with our experienced veteran teachers. Those who join us only for the summers are often grown-up former campers, CITs, Interns, etc. Once they graduate high-school, they are eligible to apply for the program. Fun fact last summer: out of 78 full-time camp instructors and directors, only 6 individuals were brand-new to us. We are incredibly grateful for the community of friends and family who help shape the camp experience each and every year.
Campers are required to bring a bag lunch each day of the camp week except Fridays. Friday is our PIZZA PARTY! Lunches should be packed with an additional snack for our snack break.
If your child forgot to bring their lunch, there are a variety of actions you can take. You are always free to bring the lunch at a later time. Feel free to give the camp location a call letting them know of your arrival. Camp lunch is always at noon. If you live too far, or it is too difficult to manage coming back, give us a call and we can work out a lunch delivery for your child.
Break times at Techno-tainment Camp are mandatory and occur four times a day. Two breaks are held for fresh air, sunshine, fun and snacks (bring your own snack), while the other two breaks are for organized outdoor game activities and lunch.
At PlanetBravo, campers will be outside for periods of time. It would be best if they arrived with sunscreen already applied and with extra in tow. It is always a great idea to be prepared. Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten; we do keep extra sunscreen at camp for campers to use.
Our camps boast an 8:1 student to instructor ratio, and this does not include the camp director. Therefore, if our camp location is 64 seats, there are 9 adults present.
PlanetBravo's Techno-tainment Camps are very safe and secure. We purposely choose to hold our camps on local school campuses because they are not congested and crowded with strangers like university campuses. It's really what sets us apart from other larger camps like us.
Although there is not an official dress code for camp, we do ask that our campers come prepared to play. We are not sitting at computers all day. We play outside and therefore ask that students do not wear open-toe shoes or extremely loose or baggy clothing. We also do not permit clothing with inappropriate messages on them. Other than that, come comfortable!
As gifted as we know children are with technology, Techno-tainment Camp provides more project ideas than there is time in a summer. There are always new concepts to master and new projects to develop. Campers never run out of things to do with us.
Each course description does list if there is any experience needed; however most of our summer courses assume zero experience for all campers and add extensions for those who come with previous knowledge.
Every PlanetBravo camper is given a cloud account with abundant storage space. This will allow them to access all of their work from any computer or device with an internet connection anytime! Some students also elect to bring a flash drive with them to have a 'hard copy' of their work as well.
While we understand that all learners enter at different levels of experience, we have seen that students perform better with children in their peer group. Since instruction is widely individualized, your advanced child can move onto other aspects of the curriculum while sitting with their friends.
If for any reason you will not be on time for drop-off or pick-up, a phone number will be provided for you to reach us. A staff member will be with your child until you arrive. If tardiness is excessive, a late fee may be assessed.
This is always allowed! On the first day of camp, directors have permission slips that can be filled out allowing the camper to walk to the location. However, you will need to be there on the first day to receive this permission slip. Another option is to have the camper arrive with a handwritten note allowing them to sign themselves in and out of camp at the appropriate dismissal time. Please make sure it is dated and we will need a note for every week the camper attends.
Campers who have attended at least one summer of PlanetBravo and are going into the 10th grade are permitted to apply to be an CIT for the upcoming summer. Contact us at info@planetbravo.com for more information.
